Biscuits and gravy!

Do love biscuits and gravy?! We do too! I thought I’d share my gluten free biscuits and gravy recipe. BUT then realized my “recipe” is just throwing a bunch of stuff in a pan without really measuring it. SO I’m going to share this recipe, click here for an easy recipe - with actual measurement, and I’m going to tell you how to make it gluten free.

Making gravy is not complicated - it’s basically fat (butter, oil or bacon grease, ect), flour, liquid and seasoning (salt, spices, ect).

The recipes link above uses the fat from the gravy, then you just add gf flour. NOTE: not all gf flours are the same, ideally you’d use Blue Moon flour, but don’t use nut flours or strong flavored gf flours.

I also make my gravy dairy free, I don’t do so well with milk so I use chicken broth (you can also use a combo of broth and plant based milk. I use better than bullion when making my broth).

For the biscuits I use Blue Moon 12 pack of biscuits - You can make the biscuits in the recipe, just swap flours - again I recommend Blue Moon flour, it’s not heavy and works great for this type of recipe.

I’ll work on actually documenting my recipe and update this post when I do. The gravy recipe link that I shared is a good recipe. You can adjust the salt and pepper to taste and you can make it dairy free or not.

The pics included in this post, above, are me and my steps to making gravy and how each step looks. (I pre cooked my sausage earlier in the week - so I started with about 1/4c bacon fat and 1/3c ish flour (adjust to make a thick slurry), then added my sausage then liquid.

Let me know what question you have in the comments - I’m happy to help.

Melissa :)
